Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Club at Runaway Bay boasts the only Golf Academy in Jamaica where everything you need to know aboutGolf is taught by a PGA certified instructor at no extra cost. You are lectured in the theory of golf, then taken on thecourse for the practical application. Evaluations are done later by audio/visual analysis and score card reporting.
 About the course
The SuperClubs course is a seventy-two (72) par, eighteen (18) holes championship golf course which offers anexhilarating experience for beginners and accomplished golfers alike and green fees are unlimited.
It was designed by Commander John Harris from Britain and was opened in 1960. The features of the golf course are longrolling fairways, large flat greens protected by grassy mounds and sand bunkers. It has hosted many championship eventsincluding the Ryder Cup Match between the UK and West Indies, the Jamaica Open and World Cup of Golf Super Qualifier.
The course measures 5,389 yards and is slope rated 117 from the forward trees. From the back it measures 6,870 yardsand is slope rated 124. The course is well trapped, protecting it from certainerrant shots and wind gusts of up to 35mph.
Golf School
The Course professional is Seymour A. Rose, former International Tour Player and currently Senior Series Tour cardholder. The resident professional and golf school director is Ian Melville. In addition to our resident teaching staff,we have visiting teaching professionals meeting CPGA or PGA qualifications year-round. Weekly sessions cover all aspectsof game swing, instructional video sessions, video analysis, private lessons, on course instruction, course managementskills, as well as, course etiquette.

A 9-hole scramble tournament for Golf School participants only is conducted each Tuesday and a glo-ball puttingchampionship at 8:30pm Tuesday nights.
The daily sessions at the golf school cover a separate aspect of the game daily. The structure also depends on theparticipation on a daily basis.
The clubhouse hours are 7am to 6pm. Last tee time for 18 holes is 2pm and 4pm for 9 holes. Tee off times are notrequired.
